Hello, I’m Renee McFadden. I’m from New York City, and I’m your Umbrella Sales Executive representing Distinguished Programs for the past 22 years.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I enjoy the people aspect of this business, specifically the connections and relationships I build with all stakeholders. From my fellow Distinguished colleagues to our broker and carrier partners, great working relationships help make the work I do enjoyable.
What’s a fun fact about you?
I’m a descendant of the trailblazing Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, founder of Bethune-Cookman University and president of the National Association of African American Women’s Clubs.
If you were a superhero, what would your superpower be and why?
Plot twist: I am a superhero. My superpower is being my authentic self. I bring life and sunshine to every space I occupy. The energy that I put out makes me powerful and able to withstand all things that come my way. Regardless of one status in life, I make others feel seen. I recognize this is a rare character trait. So, I give thanks to my parents, George and Christine, for the person I am.
What’s your favorite thing about the place where you live?
My favorite thing about the town I reside in is its rich and diverse history. St. Albans, New York, located in New York City, once housed notable African Americans such as James Brown, Jackie Robinson, W.E.B. DuBois, Ella Fitzgerald, and Duke Ellington.
Which actor would you want to play you in the movie about your life?
I would like Angela Bassett to play me in a movie about my life. I have huge respect for her craft. Every role Angela Bassett plays, she leans all the way in and leaves nothing to be desired.
