Serving our Community: Ronald McDonald House Charities
On Tuesday, January 30th, our Chicago team members coordinated and participated in a community service event at the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) near Lurie Children’s Hospital in downtown Chicago. The team was joined by five different insurance agencies in the area where together they prepped and served a home-cooked lunch to families staying at the RMH. The menu included honey-glazed pork loin, roasted potatoes, garlic and lemon broccoli, and a salad.
Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) is an independent, nonprofit organization that provides support to families who have a child who is seriously ill or injured. The organization provides private rooms and housing for families and friends near the hospital while their child receives his/her treatment. RMHC’s mobile clinic also serves children in under-served areas by offering free healthcare.
We had a great time fostering our Chicago community and working with local brokers. Distinguished Underwriter Nick Johnston explains, “The time we spent at the Ronald McDonald House was a great experience to interact with some of our brokers and give back to the community. The families we served were very appreciative and many of them really enjoyed our menu items!”
From all of us at Distinguished Programs, we’d like to extend a huge thank you to our friends from 235 Insurance, McNellis Insurance, Serpe Insurance Agency, Andersonville Insurance, and Kane Insurance for joining us. Thanks for supporting our community initiatives.
