Associate Underwriter for Real Estate Group – Location: Plano TX & Philadelphia PA

Responsibilities:

• Evaluates New Business submissions for a Real Estate package program and ensures proper risk selection
• Manage open submission pipeline
• Build new business pipeline through outbound interaction with clients
• Obtain and understand market intel and trends
• Provide and create solutions for a broad range of customer inquiries
• Develop relationships with both external and internal customers, with the “customer experience” in mind
• Promote teamwork and organizational success, while accepting accountability and ownership, celebrating successes and learning from past mistakes
• Navigate our online broker portal to complete tasks and troubleshoot
• Deliver an exceptional customer experience with every interaction, in all modes of communication
• Identify opportunities to improve underwriting efficiencies
• Work independently within deadlines while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with stakeholders

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum 1 to 2 years of commercial insurance underwriting experience preferred
• Insurance license and professional designations preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and persuade with strong negotiation skills
• Must be self-driven, detail oriented, and possess strong organizational skills including time-management and prioritization
• Some travel may be required
