Hi, my name is Jared O’Donnell. I am your Sales Executive for the Umbrella programs here at Distinguished Programs. I’m from Northeastern Pennsylvania and have been with Distinguished Programs for three years.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I think, for me, it’s seeing the variety of different accounts. Additionally, it’s working with brokers on a daily basis.
What are three words to describe our Real Estate & Hospitality Umbrella programs?
Reliability. Our program has been fortunate to have weathered several hard markets, and we’ve been able to keep our capacity high so that we can continue to offer our high-limit Umbrella programs. I think about the word flexibility. We look for ways to write business and look for creative ways to partner with brokers. And I would say convenient. You don’t have to build your own tower to achieve high limits. We have an Umbrella tower that’s already built for you so that you don’t have to go five, six, seven different steps to build up to 50 million or 100 million or even higher.
What’s a fun fact about you?
In my nonprofessional life, I’ve served on a board of education. I was one of the youngest members. I do have a passion for public education and wanting the best out of the education system for our local community.
What sets Distinguished apart from other companies offering similar product solutions?
We have both sales and underwriting who you can actually pick up the phone and talk to. There’s some other companies that don’t have that level of interaction.
Give an example of how you solved a significant problem for a broker.
In terms of some of the problems that brokers have been running into, it’s just building a limit and building layers. Thankfully, with Distinguished, we have the ability to write on our real estate program, for example, $25 million limits all the way up to $140 million of limits.
Who’s the most famous person you’ve ever met?
So, growing up, my godfather had a friendship and a relationship with Ozzie Smith, Hall of Fame shortstop from the St. Louis Cardinals. So, I was able to meet with him and develop a friendship with him.
